/* ============================================================================
   GLOBAL PAGE SCALE
   ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Renders the public site at 90% of its original size.

WHY `zoom` ON `html` AND NOT ONE OF THE ALTERNATIVES

`html { font-size: 80% }` was the obvious candidate and is wrong here. It scales
rem values only, so type would shrink while button heights (42px), borders, icon
dimensions and image sizes stayed exactly where they are — buttons would end up
looking LARGER relative to their labels, not smaller. It would also take the base
   from 16px to 12.8px, rendering --cx-fs-meta at 10px, and coutts-system.css:131
calls that token "the FLOOR for anything a visitor must read".

`transform: scale(0.8)` scales everything but does not reflow: it leaves a 20%
empty gutter at the right, breaks scroll height, and offsets every click target
   from where it is painted.

`zoom` on the root element is the one mechanism that behaves like browser zoom —
layout reflows, percentages and viewport units recompute, fixed and sticky
positioning stay correct, and click targets land where they are drawn. It is
supported in Chrome, Edge and Safari, and in Firefox from 126. Older Firefox
ignores the property entirely and renders the site at its previous size, which is
a graceful degradation rather than a broken page.

   ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONE CONSEQUENCE TO BE AWARE OF: BREAKPOINTS MOVE

Zooming out makes the viewport report MORE css pixels — at 0.9 a 1280px window
measures about 1422px. Media queries therefore fire as though every screen were
roughly 11% wider, so a device close to a breakpoint may receive the next layout up.
Nothing breaks, but the sizes worth a glance are around each breakpoint: 1024px,
   900px, 760px, 620px and 560px.

This shift is markedly smaller than it was at 0.8, where the same window reported
1600px and screens jumped a whole layout tier.

   SCOPE AND REVERSAL

Loaded from resources/views/layouts/app.blade.php, which serves the public site
only. The Control Centre extends admin.layouts.panel and is unaffected.

To change the amount, edit the one value below. To revert entirely, remove the
stylesheet link from the layout — no other file depends on this.

/* 0.9 — was 0.8. One value; nothing else in the codebase depends on it. */
